Keeping The Faith!

It's been a while since I've written but after the devastating atrocities that occurred on Friday evening I feel like I need to vent my feelings somewhere.

There are so many words to describe how I feel: fear, anger, pity, sadness, frustration and confusion.

Fear for the future and the kind of world I have brought my children in to.

Anger at the despicable cowards that committed these acts (trust me I can think of worse words I'd like to use to describe them!)

Pity for all the family and friends who lost loved ones in these barbaric events.

Sadness for the innocent souls who were just out living their lives dancing, eating, watching a game of football.  Bless each and every one of you.

Frustration that these crazy, suicidal idiots have no concern for human life (not even their own)!

Confusion as to how these lunatics seem to come for normal backgrounds and are turning against the very societies they have been brought up in.  At what point are their brains washed to the point that they are happy to blow themselves up, all in the name of "religion?"

I'm sure many of you have been feeling the same wave of emotions as me and have cried over the stories we have seen in the news coverage.

Then this morning, a friend of mine of Facebook had added this as her cover picture:

Watching the news coverage after seeing this, I found myself having a different take on the outcome from Friday. The one thing those evil cretins have not been able to take away from us is our solidarity, the acts of human kindness between strangers, they are uniting us and making us stronger, not weaker.

They can take lives but they can not take away humanity!

Orla Kiely Warehouse Clearance!!

Just wanted to share the love with you all in case you happen to be in London later this week, here is an opportunity for you to pick up an Orla Kiely bargain.

Warehouse clearances are a great opportunity to bag a designer label at a slightly less credit card melting price, my one tip would be to get there earlier in the day as they tend to resemble something similar to a jumble sale by the end.

Good luck and make sure you give us a peek at your purchases!

Sneak Peak | New Wagamama Dish

Today Wagamama launch their new menu. Seeing as I spend far too much time in my local restaurant than any normal person, when I popped in for a quick lunch yesterday I was treated to a sneak taste of one of their new starters.

May I present the new stuffed tempura mushrooms.  When the waitress brought this over I felt a little worried as I HATE mushrooms, seriously I can't stand the smell of them cooking and they remind me of slugs when they're all slimy but out of guilt I felt I had to be polite and give them a go.

I needn't have worried these were sublime.  Wrapped in a light tempura was a wonderful combination of firm, fresh mushrooms with prawn and garlic served with a spicy sauce.  It really was divine and I couldn't believe how much I enjoyed these.

There are so many things on the new menu I can't wait to try but next time you visit I thoroughly recommend this dish.

What I Wore | Wedding Outfit

Morning all,

At the weekend I had the privilege of attending the wedding of some very dear friends of mine.  It really was a special day, that moment when the bride takes her first steps down the aisle chokes me up every time.

I blogged a couple of weeks ago about a gorgeous peplum dress I purchased from Bonprix as a possible candidate for my outfit for the special day but when it arrived, I decided it was a little too casual for a wedding outfit, so the search was on again.

Step in, my saviour, House of Fraser.  If you order before midday, your items will be delivered that very same evening for £6, which is what it would have cost for next day delivery anyway.

The final contender was this beauty by Episode. It cost £69 but had a great mock, wrap effect and was very flattering to the figure. I loved the blue crazy print and v-neck to show off the knockers.  Teamed up with a matching coral bag and heels from Matalan which I bought about a year ago.

What do you think?

What outfits do you have lined up for wedding season?

Use Your Vote!

So, some of us might be complacent about using our right to vote. I wanted to highlight the many reasons it is SO SO SO important for you to exercise this right:

1) We have a right to choose who we want to vote for in free and fair elections, remember that in other countries people are now allowed this right, they have a government forced upon them.

2) The more young people vote the more likely politicians are to make policies that benefit you. I really wish I had considered this in my 20s but you just think that none of this influences you. It does guys, it really really does.

3) Emmeline Pankhurst and the suffragettes spent years fighting for the right for women to vote. Many women even lost their lives, don't let them have made that sacrifice in vain! Make them proud.

4) Your local MP can help fight important issues for you. They represent you and will defend you.

5) Living in a "safe" seat doesn't mean that your vote won't make a difference. If one person decides they can't be bothered to pop down the road to make their vote, it could make a HUGE difference.

YOUR opinion counts.
YOU have the right to put your opinion forward!

Feeling Fruity?!

I'm not sure if any of these would count towards your 5 a day but they're all very pretty nonetheless!!

This cute little banana purse will only set you back £4.99 from New Look. Perfect for stashing your change in.

To quote Baby from Dirty Dancing, "I carried a watermelon", will literally be the case with this clutch bag, also from New Look and only £12.99.

I love this simple apple necklace from, it's only £8.95 and would really make a simple outfit look querky.

I'd have no chance of being able to wear this lemon crepe dress from Miss Guided, with boobs my size going bra less just isn't an option but I wanted to include it as it just makes me feel all summery.  It's only £20.00 and would look fantastic on someone who's just got back from their holidays with a gorgeous tan.

Finally, I have a thing about plimsolls at the moment.  This pineapple pair just ooze cheerfulness. £43.00 from ASOS, would look great paired up with some blue jeans and a simple white tee.

Do you have any fruit print items in your wardrobe?
