Karren Brady Loves for BHS

The Apprentice Queen Karren Brady, has designed a collection of four dresses for BHS in support of Wellbeing of Women.

Being an office worker, it's always difficult to find that perfect combination of corporate sexiness.  At the end of the day, you don't want to walk around the office with your knockers on show or your ass cheeks hanging out the bottom of your skirt, equally you don't want to look like a librarian!

Karen Brady's dresses all retail for £38 and I have fallen in love with all four of them.

What's not to love about these dresses, the tailoring is fantastic and all designs would flatter any type of body shape.

As if these four beauties weren't fantastic enough, BHS has pledged to donate £10,000 to Wellbeing of Women with the sale of these dresses.

Happy shopping Posers!

Essie Chinchilly

Just a quick review on my latest nail polish addition, Chinchilly has been on my "want" list for quite a while since I saw it gracing the finger nails of a colleague.

It's a really lovely grey shade, with much more depth behind it that other grey shades which can look a little dull.

On applying the first coat it looks a little streaky but the second coat soon rectified that and made the colour completely opaque.  I always think that drying time is a big factor in deciding whether or not to repurchase a nail polish, this particular Essie polish doesn't disappoint and I was able to pour a glass of wine without fear of smudging after only 30 minutes!
You can see that the finished result is a lovely slate grey with a hue of lavender.  Normally, I would reserve a grey shade for the winter months but there is a slightly summery feel to this one so it's an all weather wearer!

Keep posing!

Wash and Go (For Less)!

I have always been a huge fan of dry shampoo for those mornings when it's a toss up between spending an extra 30 minutes in bed or getting up and washing your hair.

Batiste were the creators of the original dry shampoo, adding many needed hours to my beauty sleep over the years but at the best part of £3 a can I hate to think how much I have spent on it over the years.

Whilst popping into Poundland last month I spotted this little cheaper alternative.
At a third of the price I have to say the Poundland equivalent more than meets the standards of Batiste.  The can is identical in size, the consistency is easy to work through the hair to create volume and I would even go so far to say that the brunette pigmentation is better in the £1 version than Batiste's.  They also stocked an original for those of you with lighter hair.  Obviously, you won't get the lovely range of scents which Batiste now offer but the fragrance is still pleasant enough to freshen up your bonce.

So if like me, your dry shampoo is a staple in your beauty regime, save yourself money to spend on other treats, head down to Poundland and fill up that basket.

Mum's The Word

Hi lovelies,

Hope you all had a lovely Mother's Day.  I was particularly excited since this was my first ever Mother's Day to be spent not just spoiling my own Mum but also being spoiled myself!

Being a Mum is the best job in the world, just one smile from Mini Poser melts my heart and is reward enough but I must admit I was pretty pleased with my gift.
For four months old, Mini Poser really does have good taste and I've wanted the Jimmy Choo fragrance for ages, he must have picked up on my (un)subtle hints.  I will write a proper review shortly.

To gaze at my little one knowing that my Mother gazed at me in the same way when I was little, as did her Mother and her Mother's Mother before her just makes you appreciate how magical the circle of life is.

Live, love and be loved.

Britain's Got Talent

I'm always very envious of all those creative types out there with a skill, mainly because I don't have one.

I'm also extremely proud when one of those people is one of my dear friends.  My wonderful friend of ten years Yasmin, has set up her own sideline in handmade treats called Aunties Crafty Creations.  Her website is currently being worked on but you can view her creations and contact her through her Facebook page which can be found here:

I have fallen madly in love with her cases which are custom made from beautiful designer fabrics including Robert Kaufman and Cath Kidston, even the button and ribbon is co ordinated.  My order for a matching ipad and iphone case in the kitsch Robert Kaufman owl print is being worked on right this moment, I really can't wait for them to arrive so I can show them off.

Other products I am excited buy and will be ordering are:
One of these uber cute owl cushions for Little Poser's nursery, they are so original and full of character.

Yasmin also posted pictures of some new cushion designs in the making including this little gem:
I'm just in love with everything Yasmin makes and I'll be sure to post up a picture of my cases when they arrive.  Please do all check out her Facebook page and let her know who sent you., her prices are ridiculously reasonable given the high quality and finish of the products.

Have a great weekend ladies and Happy Mother's Day!

Royal Desire

I've made myself a promise to start using my perfume more regularly.  The strength of a fragrance diminishes as time passes so before I had my Mini Poser, I avidly sprayed myself at every opportunity with bottles I knew had been hanging around a few years.

Now that Mini Poser recognises me in ways other than smell, I've been able to start using perfume again and have finally been able to open the bottle of Christina Aguilera's Royal Desire which I was given for my birthday last year.
There's something just a little bit exciting about opening a new bottle of perfume. Royal Desire comes in an elegant bottle which has a womanly hourglass shape.

It is a delicious sweet seductive fragrance. On first impression it had a strong floral scent with a slight hint of honey. The notes are black berries, yuzu (a citrus fruit from Japan which is similar to lemon), marshmallows, honeysuckle, lily, iris and rose. The base consists of cedar wood, sandal wood and musk.

The scent is strong and has great staying power.  During the day, I noticed the notes slowly fade away to leave you with the cedar wood and musk base.

I'll enjoy wearing this scent, it very feminine and sweet.  The bottle also came with a cute little "lips" charm which I'm sure I'll find a use for afterwards.

I'm not normally a massive fan of celebrity scents but I think this one is a winner.

Finally, Happy Friday girls! I have to say one this I miss about work whilst being on maternity leave is that end of the week friday feeling but then I suppose every day is friday for me at the moment.

Have a great weekend,

I'm Back!

Hi Ladies,

Yes following a very long absence I am back but first I must explain my silence.

I think I have a pretty good excuse in that I got pregnant, had a baby, bought a house, gutted the house and then put it back together again.  Nothing like a challenge to drive you to a glass of wine (or two).

So whilst I've been busy settling into motherhood I haven't really had much time on my hands to do any shopping for myself, let alone write reviews.  However, my little boy is now three months old and as good as gold, so much so that I can have a little more time to myself to do the things I love.

Motherhood is fantastic, absolutely nothing can prepare you for the way this little person steamrolls their way into your heart.  It really is love at first sight and I can't believe how much my inner lioness comes out when I think of anyone hurting my little boy!

I've been hitting the shops with gusto recently, so watch this space for some reviews and in the meantime here's a picture of the new man in my life.

Happy Sunday!
