Friday Funny

I know all you fellow Mummies out there will totally relate!

What Do You Think?

I originally started my blog a couple of years ago, unfortunately I underestimated how much of my time would be taken up having babies.

Now that they're a bit older and I can feel blogging fever eating away at me, I decided that to really inspire myself I would give my blog a new look.

With the help of the wonderful and skilled Kacie at KV Designs we've put together what I think looks like a really fresh and fun looking blog.

Please do let me know what you all think? All feedback is appreciated.

It's All About Me

1. What was the last thing you threw in the garbage/recycling?
An empty Coca-Cola Zero can. I don't tend to drink fizzy drinks but I'm so tired that there doesn't seem to be enough caffeine in the world today!

2. What is the #1 most played song on your iPod?
Rita Ora, How We Do (Party)

3. What is your favorite quote?
Life is short. Smile while you still have teeth.

4. What is your favorite body part?
My eyes

5. Would you use the power of invisibility for good or evil?
For evil, nothing illegal but I'd love to spy on people, who wouldn't want to be a fly on the wall and overhear certain conversations!

6. What is your biggest pet peeve?
People who get stressed out about the small stuff.  Use the following mantra to put a perspective on your problems: "Has/Is someone going to die? No? Then it really doesn't matter!" Morbid but true.

7. If you could know the answer to any question, what would it be?
I'd love to be able to have the answer to "what is the cure for cancer?" Cancer's a bitch, we'll stamp it out one day!

8. If someone wrote a book about you, what would be the title?
The Girl Who Always Smiled

9. What did you do growing up that got you into trouble?
Putting socializing above studying!

10. True or false: The Unicorn is the greatest mythical creature, state your case.
True, a unicorn is a horse with wings and a horn people! Plus they can stab idiots with their head!

Hope they've helped you to get to know me and my personality a little better.

Weekend in Pictures

So my kids are one extreme to the other, they're either fighting over a cardboard box or they're cuddling and covering each other in kisses.  This was one of those rare moments where it was the latter! I'm so pleased that I managed to capture the spontaneous act of love between them, after all, they came from the same womb!

My Lulu Guinness Tangle Teezer arrived.  I will write a review shortly but I was so excited by her arrival that I had to share a picture. You can never have enough Tangle Teezers right!?

Saturday night I had a very rare girls night out.  I'm more of a stay at home, wearing my onesie and watching Take Me Out kind of girl these days but to be fair, once I got there I had a whale of a time. We went to Richmond-Upon-Thames for my lovely pal Mazz's birthday. Don't worry I didn't neck that whole bottle of champagne!!

Sunday, the kids had their first ever Pizza Express. As you can see from the orange around their faces it was a success.  We've been taking them out for meals more often as I think it's really important for them to learn how to sit at the table, not just at home but also in public and mind their manners.  I was worried it was going to be a disaster but they were so well behaved and it wasn't as stressful as I was worried it might be!

I hope you all had an awesome weekend too gang!

Lulu Guinness for Red Nose Day

If ever there was a reason to go to Sainsbury's this is it!

Are you one of those people that suffers from minor heart palpitations at the thought of handing over a few hundred pounds for a handbag?  Then here is an opportunity to own a gorgeous, kookie bag designed by a British legend as well as helping out a good cause.

This year for Red Nose Day, Lulu Guinness has teamed up with Sainsbury's to design three limited edition tote bags.  Each of the three bags incorporates one of Lulu's signature designs with the iconic Red Nose Day nose.  The bags have been available instore since the 15th February and retail at £5, at least £1.50 of that will go directly to Comic Relief.

I've seen people selling these on Ebay for £16 which I have to say doesn't sit right with me somehow. Given this is for a charity, the fact that someone is profiting off the back of it for their own personal gain is wrong, pure and simple.

Nag over.

These bags are a total no brainer, go out and treat yourself to all three!

DIY: Wagamama's Edemame Beans

Now just to be clear, I go to Wagamama's so often that I am on first name terms with all the waiting staff and chefs. In fact, there is even a table designated for me when I go in!

Imagine my joy when I discovered the lovely people at Tesco (Here) had decided to start stocking Edemame Beans, I thought how amazing would it be if I could recreate Wagamama's Edemame Beans with Chilli and Garlic.

It really is so simple and makes a healthy alternative snack to nibble on, they go great with a cold glass of white wine.

All you need is:

Edemame Beans
Garlic Salt
Chilli Flakes

Steam the Edemame Beans for 7 minutes.  You don't want them to go too soggy so keep an eye on them.  Put a dash of olive oil in a wok and flash fry them for a few minutes, it's really just to heat them up so don't leave them too long and burn the skin.  Mix the garlic salt and chilli flakes together.  Place the beans in a bowl, sprinkle the salt and chilli over them and voila!

I think you'll agree they look pretty delicious and just like the real thing.
