Skirt Lust | Autograph Blue Leather A-Line Skirt

Someone stop me, I'm trying my best to resist buying this but I can already feel myself giving in!

Marks and Spencer have really upped their game with their Autograph collection this season.  They have a few on trend leather skirts available but this one really caught my eye due to the cute baby blue colour and sexy split at the front.

As worn by the lovely Lydia Rose Bright, this could look really amazing for a night out on the town or played down for a more casual daytime feel.

At £199 it's not cheap but being leather it will be long wearing.  I'm in a quandary, come on ladies what shall I do? Splurge or save?

No More e.l.f. cosmetics in the UK?!

Honestly, I'm in shock, gutted and feel a sense of loss looming on the horizon.

Grab a glass of wine and a box of kleenex ladies, Distribeauty who distribute e.l.f. products to us here in the UK have decided to stop retailing on their behalf!  This means that once their warehouse is empty, there is no one else currently lined up to bring e.l.f.'s affordable range to us here in the United Kingdom.

I'm so shocked, I know I and many many of you have several of their items in your cosmetics collection.  The only reason I found out this news is because I logged onto their website to order some of my favorite matte lip colour sticks from them.

I always found the prices of their products absolutely amazing and on top of that they would still often have 40-50% off voucher codes knocking around on the internet.  How many of their products have been dupes for their more expensive counterparts?

Am I mentioned, they are in the process of selling off what is left in their warehouse so there are some great deals still to be had with up to 70% off some items.

@ e.l.f cosmetics, if I could buy a warehouse and distribute for you I would but please please don't desert us, we'll miss your simple black packaging, amazing product ranges and dupes.

Cheerio!

Sale Spotlight | Urban Outfitters

Urban Outfitters are one of my favorite stockists of some seriously unique dresses, eclectic jewellery and kitsch homeware.

These little fellows would look fantastic on the dining room table.  At a thrifty £15 down from £22, just looking at them makes me think of the book Fantastic Mr Fox.

Everyone needs their phone to look like a piece of watermelon.  What I love about this case is that it gives good protective coverage to the phone and would be so easy to find in my handbag.  I hate it when you can hear your phone ringing and have to rummage around until you find it just before the caller rings off, ANNOYING!  This beauty is reduced from £10 to £8.

I love the simplicity of this silver pendant with the initial in the old-school typewriter font.  You could add it onto your own silver chain to make it look a bit more glamorous, at a 50% reduction from £10 to £5 it's definitely a staple to your everyday collection.

Having to carry my laptop around with me on a daily basis is a real chore, especially when I have to spend ages standing on a busy tube this causes a real backache.  We didn't have it wrong when we used to carry backpacks to school with all our books in as this is the best way to carry heavy loads.  This tan offering from Deena & Ozzy offers a more grown up solution and is a really good size, now on sale at £25 I will definitely be buying this for work.

What would you go for in the sale?  Do you love Urban Outfitters refreshing and quirky products?

Throwback Thursday

I love looking at pictures of me when I was younger, more so now I have kids of my own, I can't wait to see if my daughter looks like this when she's the same age.

I'm TOTALLY rocking those denim shorts. In the words of Calvin Harris, it was "acceptable in the 80s!"

Brand Awareness | Doll 10 Cosmetics

I thought it would be fun to introduce you all to some lesser known cosmetics brands.  We all see the same names in the drugstores and on the shelves, sometimes you can discover some amazing products if you move away from the mainstream and give some less renowned brands a try.

So allow me to introduce you to Doll 10 Cosmetics.

Doll 10 was founded by Doris Dalton, get it play on her surname to the name of the brand?  Doris is a doctor who spent two decades developed products for some of the world's most coveted brands.  It was after Doris successfully beat cancer that she decided to create her own brand with products specifically designed to help address her physically altered appearance which was a side effect of her cancer battle.

One of those products has become an absolute must have which is Brow Fix.  It's a lovely cream product infused with natural fibers which mimics brow hairs and deposits onto the skin and not just the hair giving full scuplted brows.

The best place to buy Doll 10 products is QVC.  I don't get to watch TV often but I have managed to catch a couple of the shows showcasing Doris and her products.  The best part about Doris and her presenting, is that she's not afraid to take her make-up off in front of the camera, show us blemishes and redness on her skin and then wow us with the fantastic coverage her products give.

One of the benefits of purchasing via QVC is that due to their fantastic buying power, they are able to offer us fantastic deals and discounts.  The products shown were all part of their Doll 10 Today's Special Value which only cost me £31.98 for about £100 worth of products.

I hope you've found this an interesting read?  Are there any wonder products from lesser known brands you would recommend to me?

St Patrick's Day Inspiration

Why not carry the luck of the Irish with you in the form of this lovely four leaf clover pendant, available from Etsy for just £12.49.

This gorgeous flared dress from Reiss is now on sale at £95.  It is such an elegant fit, I love the slightly capped sleeves and the band detail at the waist which helps to accentuate that hourglass figure.

Work wear can be a bit bland sometimes, people always seem to wear blacks or navy, dull dull dull.  Cheer up the office in this cute emerald blazer, £40 from John Lewis.  It could also be worn down with a nice pair of jeans for a more casual look.

So perhaps Guinness flavored lip gloss isn't everyone's cut of tea but I'm sure it could tempt a hot Irish man into giving you a nice smacker on the lips.  Just £2.43 on Etsy, a bit of fun for St Patrick's day.

This bag reminds me so much of the Michael Kors tote at a fraction of the price.  Just £35 from House of Fraser, a very affordable dupe for the designer equivalent.

Finally, these shoes are absolute gems, they remind me of the ruby slipper from The Wizard of Oz but being green, I wonder if when I clip them together they'd take me to The Emerald Isle.  On sale for only £17.95, there aren't many sizes left so get your credit cards out quickly.

Enjoy lovelies,

Life Doesn't Come With A Manual.....It Comes With A Mother

Happy Mother's Day everyone.

Regardless of whether or not you have children of your own, one thing we all have in common is that we were born with a Mother.  Whether they are still with you now or have passed on, you carry a part of them with you every day, not just in your heart but in every fibre of your being.

"We must know that we have been created for greater things, not just to be a number in the world, not just to go for diplomas and degrees, this work and that work.  We have been created in order to love and be loved." - Mother Teresa

Review | Jo Malone Lime Basil & Mandarin Cologne

Morning all, hope you're having a great weekend so far?

At £40 for 30ml, I wouldn't normally go for Jo Malone's Lime Basil & Mandarin cologne but my sister kindly bought it for me for my birthday.  It's always nice to be treated to something you wouldn't normally buy for yourself.

This is Jo Malone's signature fragrance designed to be worn by both men and women.  The base note is amberwood, the heart note is basil and the top note mandarin.

I think this scent will separate users, a bit like Marmite you'll either love it or hate it.  If you like your sweet, floral scents this one definitely isn't for you.

It's a bold, strong scent which will last on the skin, I could still smell it after 8 hours.  As soon as you put it on, you get hit with a zesty freshness balanced with a warm hint of basil.  When the scent develops it becomes gentler but still very citrusy.  It's definitely more of a masculine scent but as a woman I'm more than happy to wear something a little different from the norm and I found it to be invigorating and refreshing.

The price tag is high but you are paying for the quality of the scent and the longevity speaks for itself.

Fashion Lust | Lobster T-Shirt

I shouldn't really be attracted to prints like this at my age but come on, what is there not to love about a lobster!?
I'm tempted to wear this to a seafood restaurant and see what reaction I get.

You can buy this little gem for £24 from notonthehighstreet.com.  I wonder what Sebastian from The Little Mermaid would think of it!

Do you like quirky t-shirt designs?

Design Lust | Fifty Shades of Grey Poster

I can't help but love the irony of this poster.  A fantastic spin on the title of the steamy novel by EL James.  Unfortunately no naked Jamie Dornan in sight but genius none the less.

You can buy it from Firebox in either Medium £19.99 or Large £24.99.  If you have a Mother who's a big fan of the books and the film, this would make a great present for Mother's Day!

Kitchen Makeover

Morning lovelies,

When we moved into our house it was like a 1930s museum: bright red woodwork, crazy floral wallpaper and old bakelite light switches.  For the first three months from when we bought the house we had to live at my parents whilst we had the electric and plumbing ripped out and completely redone.

Given that our money was used up taking care of the things that needed to be done, there wasn't enough left to have our kitchen done at the time.  Although it was mustard yellow, it worked and having two small children only 20 months apart in age, the thought of not having a kitchen for weeks just wasn't a possibility.  So for three years we carried on with our Miss Marple themed kitchen.

Three years later, we had finally saved up enough to bite the bullet and get the last reminder of a bygone era removed.  You know, I've never designed a kitchen before, you have to make so many decisions, something I'm not a big fan of.

Anyway, after 9 weeks without a kitchen we're really happy with our bright, modern result.  I think you'll agree it makes the room look so much bigger and fresh.  Just putting the pictures next to each other makes me wonder how we lived with  our mustard museum for so long!

Have a great weekend!

Lulu Guinness Tangle Teezer

I absolutely love Tangle Teezers, I already own three but once I knew Lulu Guinness was allowing her trademark black, white and red lips design to be used on a Tangle Teezer compact, I knew I had to have one.

Isn't she beautiful! I love love LOVE it! Even the teeth of the brush are the same shade of vibrant red as the lips.  As ever with the compact it comes with a trusty shield so you can carry it safely in your handbag.
I bought mine on Ebay for £14 but just found it cheaper on Look Fantastic for £13:50 with free delivery.

Have a great day lovelies!

Body Shop Wish List & 40% Off Code

Afternoon lovelies,

The Body Shop always seem to offer fantastic codes.

Until 11am on Thursday 12th March they are offering a staggering 40% off full priced items when you use the code 14665!  If you shop instore you can still use the code if you tell the cashier. Very handy for Mother's Day for those of you who are leaving it a little last minute.

I've pulled together what I'm going to treat myself to:

I just couldn't resist this poppy blusher brush, so cute and will look adorable on my vanity unit.

The All-In-One Instablur has had some amazing reviews and I've wanted to try it for a while.  It does the lot: controls shine, reduces the appearance of pores, hides blemishes, makes your complexion look more event and extends the wear of your make-up. So a miracle in a tube.

The Limited Edition Vitamin E Aqua Boost Sorbet jumped out at me. I'm a sucker for anything with the words "Limited Edition" in the title.  I really shouldn't be so easy to sway by companies but I just can't stop myself and it does sound like a really lovely hydrating moisturiser.

If the Drops of Youth Concentrate does exactly what it says on the tin I'll be a happy bunny.  Who doesn't want to shave a few years off their face?

Finally this Tube Squeezer Key will be one of the most useful things I've ever bought.  You know when you get to the end of a tube and you end up with some product still in the bottom which either goes to waste or you have to take a pair of scissors to it? Well no more, pop this key on the end and twist up towards the lid and all that extra product will come out. Simple but so so genius.

Happy shopping!

My First Vlog | Primark Haul

Morning lovelies,

My word I was so NERVOUS filming this which I'm sure you'll be able to tell.  I also seem to have adopted some kind of nervous sniff, weird!

Bear with my ramblings, my erms, shaking hands etc.  I'm sure I'll get more comfortable as time gets on.

Even if you watch and laugh, I'm glad I've cheered you up!!!

Enjoy,

March Wants

There are so many things I want to treat myself to this month, although it's Mother's Day soon so you never know, the little ones might treat me to a little something.

1) Linn Young Updo Chic EDP I've been told is a great dupe for Viktor and Rolf's Flowerbomb. Given 100ml of Flowerbomb is £93.50 and this dupe is £7.10 (here) it's well worth a try

2) Makeup Revolution's new Black Velvet eyeshadow palette (here).  I really love Makeup Revolutions eyeshadow palettes, I can't resist the quirky packaging and they always have a great selection of shades.

3) My friend is off on her holidays tomorrow and showed me these gorgeous peep toe boots she had bought, after trying them on I must own a pair.  They can be purchased from Fashion World (here) for £40. What I love about them is that the heel isn't too high so won't kill my feet wearing them

4) I really love this sequin sleeve jacket (here) and the contrast between casual and glam.  This would look great with a nice white top and some blue jeans

5) I have two weddings to go to in the next few months.  I think this lovely dress from Simply Be (here) is so cute and I love the colour.  The slightly capped sleeves  will help cover my dinner lady arms and it's a really flattering length

6) I just love Yankee Candles, the scent is always strong and the burning time of the large jars is a brilliant investment.  This Bunny Cake scent (here) is just perfect for Easter, it's making me feel hungry just thinking about it

What do you want to spend your pennies on this month lovelies?

Jewellery Lust | Statement Necklace

Morning lovelies,

What a glorious Sunday morning!

On Thursday I had a huge Primark haul. I will post a vlog (my first eek!!) soon as I bought so much, it would be too much to cover in one post.

One little beauty I could wait to show you was this gorgeous statement necklace. I'd been hunting for ages for a silver one as they tend to come in gold or rose gold.

This little beauty was only £6, such a bargain considering the detail in the necklace. It has such beautiful shades of blue in the stones.  I teamed it up with a grey marl t-shirt which I also had in my Primark haul, it was £4, £4! I kid you not, sometimes you can't make the prices up.

Teamed together, the necklace made a plain t-shirt look a little more glamorous.  What do you all think?  Do you own a statement necklace, something that can change a whole outfit just by putting it on?

Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Recipe | Slimming World Falafels

One of my friends is currently on Slimming World, so I always try to cook to suit her plan when she comes over for a visit. It's fun to research and try something different so am more than happy to accommodate someone trying to be healthy.

I tried these Falafels last night and by adding different syn free spices, you can adjust to suit your own tastes but were so easy to make.

Ingredients:

1 small onion
2 garlic gloves
1 400g chickpeas (drained)
1tsp Chilli Powder
1tsp Cumin Powder
1tsp Coriander
1 small egg (beaten)

Take the small onion and two garlic gloves, chop finely and brown off in the pan with one spray of FryLight.

Into a mixing bowl put all the other ingredients plus the onion and garlic and mash with a potato masher.  Some recipes recommend putting into a blender but I prefer my falafel to have a bit more texture.

Separate the mixture into 6, then flatten into patties.  Heat one spray of FryLight in a frying pan and brown on each side for 3 minutes.

I served mine in Thai Sweet Tortilla, with salad, natural yoghurt and chilli sauce (minus the torilla for my Slimming World friend), really was a delicious dish.  You could add chilli powder or mint to the falafel for another combination.

Enjoy my lovelies,

Reasons to Have Kids #1: You Can Dress Them Up

I can't wait to bring this photo out when they're spotty teenagers just to remind them that they were cute once!

Take care my lovelies,

**Amazing Eyeko Offer**

I know many of us are big fans of the Eyeko Black Magic mascara, including the lovely Louise at Sprinkle of Glitter but we were all pretty disappointed when the price went up from an affordable £8, to a staggering £18!

So I HAD to share with you all the amazing offer QVC currently have as their beauty pick of the month.
For £19 INCLUDING P&P you can get the mascara with shield worth £18 and the brand new eyeliner which is currently only available with QVC.  So for just £1 more than you'd pay for the mascara alone, you also get the new intensely-pigmented eyeliner.

No thanks needed ladies,

Miracle Benefits of Drinking Lemon Water

Someone told me last week that my skin looked amazing, I've not had anyone say that to me in such a long time as I suffer from rosacea on my cheeks and chin so was really taken aback.  I had to think carefully about whether I'd changed skincare brands or whether there was something that I had changed in my routine which could have created this amazing transformation, then I realised, since the New Year I have been religiously drinking hot water with fresh lemon.

Obviously I already knew that by drinking lemon water I was increasing my Vitamin C intake but I wanted to research further into the other benefits of including this in my daily ritual and I was actually really surprised with the many reasons people should adopt this practice.

Benefits include:

1.     Providing the body with electrolytes which hydrate your body.

2.     Good for the joints, reducing pain in the joints and muscles.

3.     Helps digestion as lemon contains citric acid.

4.     The liver produces more enzymes from water with lemon than from any other food.

5.     Stimulates the liver to release toxins.

6.     Helps fight infections of the respiratory tract, sore throats and inflammation of the tonsils. This is due to the anti-inflammatory properties of lemon.

7.     Helps regulate natural bowel movement.

8.     Protects the body from free radicals and strengthens the immune system.

9.     Aids in proper functioning of the nervous system

10.  Cleanses blood, blood vessels and arteries.

11.  Can help lower blood pressure

12.  Vitamin C improves the skin by rejuvenating the body

13.  Helps to dilute uric acid, the build up of which leads to pain in the joints and gout

14.  Relieves heartburn

15.  Contains pectin fibre which helps suppress hunger cravings

So there you have it, keeps you healthy, hydrated, kerbs hunger cravings and you'll have amazing skin to boot.

Weekend in Pictures

Hope you all had a lovely weekend and St David's day!

Saturday we had some friends come to visit for the day, we hadn't seen each other since September so was lovely to catch up and finally exchange Christmas presents. We took the little ones for a walk and to feed the birds.  These swans were enormous! I actually felt a little bit nervous with how close they were getting to the kids.

After a bit of fresh air and having burnt off a few calories it was back to ours for the calorific lasagne I had prepared, although my favorite course of a meal is the cheeseboard. I will always skip dessert and save myself for a big slab of stilton.

B.C. (Before Children) a very close friend and I always used to have a "Sunday Sermon".  Nothing to do with religion, just a pub, wine, bunch of trashy mags and gossip ... heaven.  I was given a 3 hour pass away from the little ones which was hugely needed.  "Sunday Sermons" are few and far between these days which makes me appreciate them even more.
