Hen Weekend in Pictures

Morning lovelies,

So I joined the most amazing hen weekend in Fordingbridge near Salisbury.

10 of us had rented this amazing barn conversion for the weekend called Hyde Barn.  It really was an amazing place to stay, right in the middle of the countryside with fields of horses and sheep right on our doorstep. It wasn't cheap, £1600 for 3 nights (book here) but the property can sleep up to 15 people so once divided between the group it wasn't too bad and certainly cheaper and a much more impressive place to stay than a hotel.  They provided bedding, towels, toilet roll and was well equipped with a sound system and TVs in most of the bedrooms.

We all arrived on the Friday and decided to make the most out of the cottage by having a pyjama party in the evening, hence the rather trendy Teenage Mutant Ninga Turtle PJs I'm rocking in the picture.  We'd done a huge food shop so had a great meal of pizzas, garlic bread and lasagne, all washed down with wine, skittles vodka and a various assortment of other alcoholic beverages.  We then played the usual Hen Party games which never fail to entertain and raise a few giggles.

Saturday, after a hearty breakfast we have a wonderful visit from the lovely Cara from Craft and Giggles. Craft and Giggles offer a wonderful service whereby they come to you and offer a workshop of your choice, we went for glass painting which left us all with a wonderful momento of the weekend.  We all sat around the huge dining room table, poured out the prosecco and painted for three hours.  The time went so quickly and we all enjoyed getting creative.  I made the small tumbler a gift for my son complete with obligatory dinosaur.

Then it was time to don the glad rags ready for a night on the tiles.  First we went to the Slug and Lettuce in Salisbury town centre for a cocktail making course and a two course meal.  Again we all had such a giggle, accidentally over pouring with the vodka into our cocktail shakers.  We were all nicely warming up and then sat down to a two course meal, which was basic but still good and just what you need before a night of dancing!

Sunday morning, somehow we had all dodged the hangover bullet, enjoyed a leisurely strolled around the area.  Taking in the breathtaking views and dusting off the cobwebs from the night before.  Then it was time to pack our bags but before we hit the motorway home we went for an amazing roast at the local pub The George in Fordingbridge.  Honestly, it really was up there as being one of the best roasts I've ever had.  I managed to resist having a dessert but there is plenty to tempt you from the creme egg brownie to the jaffa cake cheesecake with homemade chocolate orange ice-cream, sounds delicious right!?

I did have a wonderful weekend, with a great bunch of ladies and have made some fabulous new friends.  It was great to get home to the babies though, never could stay away from my little munchkins for long but I did enjoy the 2 night's sleep with no disturbance!

What did you all do for your Hen?

Hope you all had a lovely weekend too.
